She may have been spending a casual day shopping and having lunch, but Jessica Alba still looked every inch the movie star in New York today. The 31-year-old actress looked stunning in a plunging Narciso Rodriguez. The dress skimmed the star's svelte frame, showing off her toned figure.

Blue rimmed sunglasses and stylish black and white heels completed the look. According to onlookers, Jessica had just had lunch in the nearby Trump Soho Hotel before she headed to posh department store Barneys for a spot of shopping.

However, there was no sign today of the star's husband Cash Warren and  11-month-old daughter Haven, although the star was later spotted taking four-year-old daughter Honor out for a walk by the Hudson river.

Jessica recently appeared on daytime talk show The View to discuss her new endeavour The Honest Company, which she co-founded to provide non-toxic baby and family home products.

As she recently revealed, Honest just received B Corporation Certification, meaning, according to its website that it 'harnesses its power and resources for public good.'

Jessica explains on the website: 'When I became a mom, I finally became the person I am, that I always should have been. It’s the most satisfying job in the world.'
